Sore progression for outside by Staind

Get a pen and paper and map the Am pentatonic shape all over the fretboard...then play it and learn it. Do that for each minor pentatonic shape. Concentrate on each root note of each shape. Note: Only map out 6 notes. Start on the root and end on the root. Doing this yourself is way better than any book or having someone do it for you. Took me 3 weeks to pencil out and memorize just Am. Get a slow Am backing track and a metronome, and you'll be soloing in no time. Another thing to note, the Am shapes connect nicely from one position to the next without gaps. The other positions do have gaps, but you'll figure it out!

Im in search of a scales book that liste how to truly play scales up the ENTIRE neck from fret 1 up to 22 or 24. Anything you reccomend.i cant seem to find one. The guitar grimoire is pretty close but not the entire neck

Correction: Pent means five. Tonic means tone. Pentatonic means five tones/notes, NOT five.

Awesome lesson

I started playing acoustic guitar when I was about 7 years old. I asked my dad to teach me what he knew, and he did. Very basic chords, and that was it. He took me for lessons, but I didn't know how to read music. I did learn a couple of basic bar chords, but that was it. I have since quit playing, and I'm thinking about getting back into it. However, I will soon be 58, and I am struggling with the chords because of my arthritis. My fingers no longer have the callous they used to, but my arthritis is the main problem. Any advice on how to deal with that?
